Two integrated systems. One Outcome.

SANDS develops two integrated hardware systems that work together: offshore interception barriers that actively transport sargassum to collection points, and containerized processing units that stabilize biomass on-site for downstream sale.

Containerized Quality Control System

A self-contained, fully automated dewatering, rinsing, and stabilization system housed inside a standard 40' shipping container. Designed to be placed in a hotel's industrial or service area, processing fresh sargassum directly from ocean collection.

Rinse & Dewater

Automated wash and screw press separates sand, water, and biomass. Transport volume reduced by 8x.

Stabilize

Controlled conditions preserve polysaccharide content (alginate, fucoidan, mannitol) before bacterial degradation.

Produces two sellable outputs: a pressed biomass cake and a concentrated bioliquid — ready for downstream buyers.

Engineering Development & Prototype Planning

A university partner in Quintana Roo, Mexico has committed to host the first prototype deployment on-site.

Current priorities include mechanical validation, load testing, site-specific pilot configuration, and iterative design refinement with our engineering partners
